Cedric Muhammad has been the student of the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the leadership of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Brother Cedric joined the Nation of Islam in 1990 at the age of 19. Within two years he became a coordinator for the Study Group of Austin, TX. Under his leadership he built up the Austin Study Group to achieve a Mosque charter.

As part of the efforts to bring one million men to the Historic Million Man March in 1995, Brother Cedric chartered two planes and mobilized 1,000 men throughout the city. Cedric Muhammad was also part of the Bastrop federal prison ministry. Brother Cedric has served on several advisory boards for the City of Austin, one of which includes the Austin Revitalization Board.

Among of his various works in the community he was instrumental in mobilizing communities to free Lacresha Murray, an 11yr old girl tried as an adult for murder, which ended in an acquittal.  Along with ACLU and others is a staunch proponent for a moratorium of the death penalty. Brother Cedric also tirelessly rallied communities to fight for justice from the police shootings of Sofia King an unarmed Black woman shot in the back by officers and others. He has also worked with the Austin Police Department’s police Chief to give sensitivity training to local police officers.
